NASHVILLE, Tenn., November 19, 2009 — Synergy Production Group today announced the 2010 launch of the Hoops of Hope All-Stars Tour to raise funds for projects benefiting AIDS orphans in Africa. Deemed "the world's largest free throw festival," the events will take place across 12 cities throughout the United States, beginning in April through August 2010.

An upcoming fundraising event called Twestival Local is set to take place in cities around the world Sept. 10-13. A Twestival (Twitter festival) is a global series of events organized by volunteers around the world in which they use Twitter to bring people together offline to support a cause.

The Coca-Cola Company has announced that it has committed $30 million over six years through its Replenish Africa Initiative (RAIN) to provide at least two million Africans with clean water and sanitation.

Amsterdam, January 26, 2009 – The Elsevier Foundation has announced today that it has committed a total of $555,000 in grants to ten institutions from around the world in support of initiatives that promote the work of libraries and scholars in science, technology and medicine.
