The Generosity Series announced the launch of Gratitude Rising, a virtual fundraising movement. Gratitude Rising combines the power of virtual peer-to-peer fundraising with a full-scale gratitude curriculum. The result is stronger charity-participant relationships, significantly higher participant engagement, and more robust fundraising.
The growth of virtual events over the past 18 months and the increased data it has produced showed the power of virtual events but also highlighted their limitations when compared to live events: They are less effective at engaging participants and they do a poor job building communities — both critical aspects of peer-to-peer fundraising success.
Generosity Series' Chief Operating Officer Dave Linn "The Gratitude Dude" explained, “People crave community, and fundraising is fueled by engagement. Yet, traditional virtual events are often very one-sided: Participants sign up, they fundraise, they reach out to their friends, they encourage others to join them, but other than some often-automated messaging, there’s very little on the other side of the relationship. We wanted to find a way to give participants something more — something less tangible but more meaningful. Gratitude is precisely that thing, it’s the ribbon that runs through charitable endeavors, fundraising, and individual and community growth.”
Through Gratitude Rising, each participant is participating in a virtual 5K and raising funds for their charity partner while concurrently joining a global gratitude sub-community through a full-blown, engaging gratitude curriculum.
Linn added, “This is the ultimate win-win. We show gratitude to the organizations that make our world a better place and we grow gratitude through the curriculum and community that those organizations have introduced us to. We’re excited to continue The Generosity Series’ mission to provide affordable and powerful peer-to-peer fundraising to all nonprofits while creating a movement of gratitude-oriented individuals and companies. To ensure the success of Gratitude Rising, we have curated an unmatched faculty composed of some of the most well-known gratitude authors, coaches and implementers. On the software and campaign side of things, we are excited to continue our relationship with OneCause, a leader in online and event fundraising that shares our vision to empower nonprofits and the people that support them.”
