Bloomerang, an Indianapolis-based donor and volunteer relationship management platform for more than 16,000 small and midsize nonprofits, announced today it has acquired Qgiv, a Lakeland, Florida-based fundraising technology solution predominately in the peer-to-peer space that serves more than 6,000 nonprofits of all sizes. The deal was finalized in December and brings the total customer base to more than 23,000 nonprofits.
The addition of Qgiv will allow nonprofits to raise more and build stronger relationships by accelerating Bloomerang’s vision to create “the giving platform of the future,” Bloomerang said in a press release announcing the acquisition.
“Together we can deliver an expanded solution that exceeds the needs of the nonprofit sector — intuitive, easy-to-use donor management, volunteer management and deep fundraising capabilities — in a single place,” Dennis Fois, Bloomerang’s CEO, said in a statement. “By bringing together the best of fundraising and donor relationship management, we can help nonprofits maximize the full potential of their donor communities and ultimately raise more donations, time and support.”
There are no branding changes planned at this time, but a spokesperson noted Bloomerang's goal is to operate as one company. The only imminent personnel change for the combined team of 480 employees is Todd Baylis, Qgiv's CEO and co-founder, will become the chief fundraising officer.
Launched in 2012, Bloomerang now boasts tools to assist nonprofits with online fundraising, donor database management and analytics, volunteer management and marketing campaigns. Last year alone, Bloomerang launched Bloomerang Volunteer, as well as product updates that improved its donor portal, added a groups functionality to segmentation abilities, created new reporting and dashboard options and developed a Tap to Pay contactless payment option.
Prior to today’s announcement, Bloomerang acquired Kindful in 2021 and InitLive in March of last year.
Qgiv was founded in 2007 to help nonprofits fundraise online. The technology solution currently offers peer-to-peer, text and auction fundraising, as well as donation form creation, event registration and data engagement reporting. Bloomerang has supported integrations with Qgiv prior to the acquisition, but more enhancements are expected to be announced this year.
"By adding Qgiv’s end-to-end fundraising solution to Bloomerang’s leading donor relationship management platform, we can help nonprofits raise more by supporting the entire donor journey,” Baylis said in a statement. “We recognize that our technologies, people and skills complement each other, and we have a tremendous opportunity to build the sector's first and most efficient giving platform."
