Chase Doubling Donations to Drive to End Hunger During Holidays
Press release (Nov. 26, 2012) — In the holiday spirit, Chase will be doubling its donations to AARP Foundation in support of Drive to End Hunger, a national effort to end hunger among older Americans. Throughout November and December, Chase will work to make the holidays a little bit brighter for older Americans by donating $0.06 for each purchase made with the
AARP® Visa® Card from Chase and $2 for each new account opened. Chase will donate up to $2 million to AARP Foundation in 2012.
Hunger is a growing problem among older Americans that needs to be addressed.
- There are 9 million Americans, over the age of 50, who don’t have enough to eat every day — forced to choose between food and other basic needs
- Older adult hunger has spiked nearly 80 percent since 2001
- Senior hunger is predicted to increase 75 percent by 2025 according to AARP Foundation
Chase has been doing its part to address this growing issue since 2011. For nearly two years, Chase has been donating $0.03 for each purchase made with the AARP® Visa® Card from Chase and $1 for each new account opened to AARP Foundation for Drive to End Hunger. Last year, Chase contributed more than $1.6 million, equivalent to an estimated 750,000 meals for older Americans in need.
