In 2000, Bank of America endowed its Program on Volunteerism to the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation in an effort to educate individuals and corporations on the importance of volunteer and nonprofit activities in today’s society. The program has been presented annually by the Mosbacher Institute for Trade, Economics, and Public Policy at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. The 2018 Bank of America Program on Volunteerism is particularly significant because it marked the launch of the Bush School’s Center for Nonprofits & Philanthropy and the passing of the program’s torch from Mosbacher Institute to the Center. In 2022, the 20th Anniversary of the program was celebrated at the Holocaust Museum in Houston, Texas. The Center is honored to be celebrating this program as part of The Bush School 25th Anniversary Celebration week at the Bush School DC.
