The Canadian Parliament approved a bill that makes Canada the first country in the world to permanently recognize Nov. 15 as National Philanthropy Day.
National Philanthropy Day, which is backed by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), was created in 1986 and has been celebrated around the world to honor the work of charities, donors, volunteers, corporations and foundations. With the passing of the bill in Canada, it is another step in the great work of the fundraising community and proof that National Philanthropy Day continues to grow.
Here is a video message from AFP President and CEO Andrew Watt on Canada becoming the first country to permanently recognize National Philanthropy Day.
