With a background in for-profit tech sales, Beth Fisher joined Mel Trotter Ministries three years ago as its chief advancement officer, but quickly became frustrated with the organization’s technology, which had been in place for 17 years.

“I said to the team, ‘How do you know what donors to do anything with — to call on, to invite on a tour, etc. How do you know? What’s your strategy?’ Fisher, who also serves as CEO and founder of Fisher Strategic, said. “There wasn’t one, and I was baffled by that. I also had a moment of crisis where I was like, ‘Did I just make the world’s worst career change?’”

In this episode of The NonProfit Voice Tech Series, Fisher joins Mark Becker, founding partner of Cathexis Partners and editorial advisory board member of NonProfit PRO, to discuss Mel Trotter Ministries’ process of selecting new technology.

Listen to the episode to discover how the nonprofit technology switch improved the nonprofit’s workflow so the organization could work much more efficiently and improve donor relationships.
