Unemployed Volunteer at Food Banks, Museums, Nonprofits

Free Press, July 13, 2009 — For a growing number of the state's nearly 700,000 unemployed residents, working for free is better than not working at all.
With available jobs in scarce supply, many laid-off Michiganders are getting out of the house to help out at museums, food banks, hospitals and other nonprofit organizations.
