Claude for Nonprofits Launches With Sector Discounts, Data Connectors and Training
Anthropic has launched Claude for Nonprofits, offering discounts, connectors to nonprofit technology tools and a free training course designed for nonprofit teams.
Claude for Nonprofits aims to make AI more affordable and easier to plug into existing workflows for organizations that often have to do more with limited resources.
Discounted Claude Access for Nonprofits
The Epilepsy Foundation uses Claude to provide round-the-clock informational support to people living with epilepsy, while the International Rescue Committee relies on the tool to communicate with local partners and analyze field data in humanitarian settings. Research organization IDinsight reports working up to 16 times faster with Claude for tasks such as analysis and drafting.
Now Anthropic is offering nonprofits discounted access of up to 75% on Claude’s team and enterprise plans.
The team plan is ideal for smaller organizations that want to collaborate through shared projects and organizational knowledge, while the enterprise plan targets larger nonprofits that need additional security features and administrative control. Claude for Nonprofits includes access to Claude Sonnet 4.5 and Claude Haiku 4.5, with Claude Opus 4.5 available on request for enterprise customers. Sonnet 4.5 is best for more sophisticated tasks, such as grant writing and program analysis, while Haiku 4.5 is designed for faster performance.
And for nonprofit staff — including those with no technical experience — needing more training on AI, Claude for Nonprofits, in coordination with GivingTuesday, released a free course, “AI Fluency for Nonprofits,” to help nonprofits become more effective in their AI use — whether it's for grant writing, program evaluation, donor engagement or organizational efficiency.
Connectors to Nonprofit Data and Fundraising Tools
Claude already connected to tools, such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Asana, Slack, and Box, but Anthropic also introduced three open-source connectors that plug Claude into widely used nonprofit and philanthropy platforms. Benevity, Blackbaud and Candid are the first model context protocol integration partners for Claude for Nonprofits.
For Blackbaud, Claude for Nonprofits will be available in its Raiser’s Edge NXT, allowing fundraisers to easily access donor behavior, giving patterns, campaign outcomes and operation workflows.
"When Anthropic approached us to partner on this offering, we were thrilled that it directly aligned with our plans to expand Blackbaud AI by giving our users even more flexibility to access our capabilities wherever they work," Mike Gianoni, president, CEO and vice chairman of the board of directors at Blackbaud said in a statement. "Joining forces with Anthropic on this initiative allows us to support customers in an even richer way. And we're just getting started: We intend to expand this connector across our industry-leading nonprofit, education and corporate solutions."
Candid, meanwhile, has launched a product integration that brings its vetted nonprofit and foundation data into Claude.
"Nonprofits are under immense pressure to do more with less," Catherine Williams, chief data officer at Candid, said in a statement. "We're meeting Claude users where they are to expand access to Candid's data. Our mission is to get people the information they need to do good, and this partnership allows us to reach a broader audience while leveraging Claude's AI-powered capabilities to help nonprofits work more efficiently and effectively."
Rounding out the trio, Benevity will surface its more than 2 million validated nonprofits, giving corporate social responsibility and employee-giving programs a way to find eligible organizations within Claude.
“At Benevity, our purpose has always been to make it easier for people and companies to do good in the world,” Soraya Alexander, CEO of Benevity, said in a statement. “Benevity’s partnership with Anthropic and Claude for Nonprofits brings that purpose to life in a new way, using responsible AI to connect people with causes that matter to them. It’s another step in our journey to help companies activate purpose at work, empower employees to make meaningful impact, and help nonprofits reach more supporters with greater efficiency and trust.”
Anthropic is also positioning a broader support ecosystem around these tools. The company is working with The Bridgespan Group, Idealist Consulting, Vera Solutions and Slalom to provide strategy and implementation expertise for nonprofits adopting AI in their operations and fundraising.
