Disabled Vet Sues Nonprofit for Fraud, Negligence

A lawsuit claiming fraud, abuse of a vulnerable person and negligence was filed against Oregon Veterans Resource Center in Hillsboro, Ore. on Wednesday.

Plaintiff Gary Reed, 53, said he's proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army.

"It means everything to me," said Reed. "It means freedom, freedom of speech and freedom to associate with anyone I want to."

Reed thought those feelings were mutual when he moved into the house at 272 SE Walnut St. in Hillsboro, last February. The house is run by the nonprofit OVRC.
