Ebola Fundraising Appeal Sets Record for Most Individual Online Donations

A Chinese appeal to provide aid for those affected by the Ebola outbreak in Africa has set a new record for most individual donations for a campaign on a single online platform in 24 hours. Organized by instant messenger service Tencent QQ alongside the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation and the United Nations World Food Programme, the charity drive received 105,803 individual pledges on Dec. 23 last year.
