"That's two times in the same day that I've heard the word 'armadillo.' I could go years without hearing the word 'armadillo' and now I've heard it twice in one day!"
Target Marketing Group President Peggy Hatch (my boss) was responding to the fact that two people I ran into at the Bridge Conference, which wraps up today in National Harbor, Md., mentioned a column I wrote last year after a fascinating conversation I had at a dinner during a different conference.
It points to the staying power of a good story, which is the backbone of truly successful fundraising efforts. So I thought the column was worth repeating (not to mention, it was somewhat of a late night last night and there is an early session this morning).
