A Great Loss for St. Jude, Fundraising Community as a Whole

I didn't have the honor of personally knowing Dave McKee, the senior executive vice president and chief operating officer at ALSAC, the fundraising organization for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, who died last week from injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident.
But I knew of his work, and of his dedication to St. Jude and its mission. And I knew how much his staff valued and appreciated him.

We were happy to give Dave the Lifetime Achievement Award in our 2011 Fundraising Profesionals of the Year Awards. You can read about his accomplishments here.

We at FundRaising Success offer our thoughts and prayers of comfort and condolences to Dave's family and friends, and to the many people who have worked with him and for him over the years who are now dealing with this loss.

Godspeed, Dave. Your dedication will be missed; your spirit will live on in those you have mentored over the years and in the continued good works of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. From the fundraising community and all of the children and familes your work has helped, thank you.
