HHS, Private Foundations Join Forces to Address Family Homelessness

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is teaming up with four national foundations to fund a $25 million grant to five organizations nationwide. This grant will fund a supportive housing project designed to address homelessness and keep families together.

The five grantees are Kids in Distress, Community Alliance for the Homeless, Four Oaks Family and Children’s Services, the San Francisco Human Services Agency, and the Connecticut Department of Children and Families.

William C. Bell To Receive American Humane Association’s 2009 Vincent De Francis Award

The American Humane Association announced it will present the prestigious Vincent De Francis Award to William C. Bell on April 1, 2009, in Atlanta during the 17th National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect. The award recognizes those with the vision and commitment to reach across disciplines in order to improve child-welfare systems on a national level. Bell is president and chief executive officer of Casey Family Programs, a position he has held since 2006.
