[Editor's note: The 2014 Fundraising Professionals of the Year Awards winners will be announced in the February issue of FundRaising Success. Leading up to the awards, FS will highlight past winners.]
Lynn Edmonds, president of full-service direct-response fundraising agency LW Robbins, is a pioneer in the fundraising sector, with a prolific career spanning nearly four decades. So when FundRaising Success was forming its inaugural Editorial Advisory Board more than a decade ago, Edmonds' name was right up there at the top of the list.
Thankfully for FS, she accepted "without hesitation and was a hands-on and much appreciated adviser for three years," as Editor-in-Chief Margaret Battistelli-Gardner wrote in announcing Edmonds as the 2010 Fundraising Professionals of the Year Lifetime Achievement winner.
Edmonds has worked with nonprofits such as the American Cancer Society, Special Olympics, MAP International, The UN Refugee Agency, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Coast Guard Foundation, American Diabetes Association, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Catholic Relief Services, Consumers Union, Covenant House, National Audubon Society, Native American Rights Fund, Washington National Cathedral and more than 40 regional food banks during her career and continues her great work as president of LW Robbins.
