INDIANAPOLIS, November 2, 2009 — Gender does not generally predict whether someone who donates to charity is likely to leave a charitable bequest in his or her will, according to a study released today by the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.

ROMEOVILLE, September 17, 2009 — Lewis University hosted its 11th annual Signum Fidei Celebration Saturday, Sept. 12, at the historic Palmer House Hilton in Chicago, a perfect setting for the history-making launch of the $30 million Campaign for Lewis University: Touching Hearts and Minds.  More than 500 guests enjoyed the gala event which included a reception, silent and live auctions, raffle, elegant dinner, entertainment and the presentation of the annual Signum Fidei Award to William Rybak, Lewis alumnus and Chair Emeritus of the Lewis University Board of Trustees.  

CHICAGO, September 2, 2009 — Aiming to overcome hurdles that could depress Illinois census tallies and cost our state deserved federal funds, an unprecedented alliance of 60 nonprofits and 10 of Illinois' leading foundations are working together to improve participation in the 2010 census among hard-to-count populations.  Targeting hard-to-reach communities, this endeavor, known as the Count Me In campaign, is the largest effort in the country to promote census participation in a single state by a group of philanthropic funders and nonprofit organizations.

NEW YORK, Augus 24, 2009 —  For the seventh year in a row, Bloomingdale's will host a charity shopping night in each of its stores -- the Fashionable Fundraiser in Black and White. Held each February and August, the Fashionable Fundraiser helps raise awareness and funds for national and local charities. This August, Bloomingdale's will partner with amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, for the four-day event, running from Thursday, August 27 through Sunday, August 30.
