Paving the Way: Marketer of the Year

Paisley Demby has dedicated his life to serving the underserved for the past 15 years. For the past seven years, he has been marketing and recruiting small business owners to apply for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program offered at LaGuardia Community College. He also manages business advisors who work with the businesses in the program. To date, 700 small businesses have taken advantage of the program and have grown (on average) 60.8 percent.

Demby is also the founder of the Queens Business Plan Competition and the New York StartUp! Business Plan Competition. In these events, he trains over 500 entrepreneurs and provides them with tools, the mindset and the inspiration to create their business plans. The New York StartUp! Business Plan Competition is hosted by the New York Library, Science Industry and Business Library.
