
As I frantically race from event to event, checking my schedule, checking my email, stressing I've missed something, and—"Oh hey there! Good to see you too!"—now waving and smiling brightly, as I pray my outward appearance doesn't belie my inward turmoil at wanting—needing—to be everywhere all the time … I stop and breathe. WHEW! That is a lot of conferences!
The nonprofit world is rife with educational and networking opportunities. And with our industry growing and changing so much, at such incredible speed, how can one keep up? When planning our events this year, our short list to work around was 36 events. Thirty-six! And those were only the easily identifiable ones from less than a handful of major associations.
So how do you determine where you need to be? Obviously, I can't answer that for you. But I can tell you a little about our six events and why you might not want to miss them:
Full day
Formerly called the FundRaising Success Engage Conferences, these full-day events with networking receptions the night before have been enthusiastically received. We think it's the high-quality content plus casual atmosphere. We keep these to approximately 100-150 people and make sure to provide the most interaction possible, for the most information sharing available.
LEADERSHIP—May 5, Washington, D.C.—This event will zero in on the key issues that affect your organization as a whole—and how addressing those internal concerns will improve your overall fundraising and nonprofit leadership. Because the better your nonprofit runs, the smarter it operates, the more money you can raise. Or put it where you need it most. Get priceless legal information from a major nonprofit, and learn from experts that have successfully broken down silos to reach sky-high goals. In addition, get insights on dealing with a difficult board, harnessing risk, changing mind-sets and more.
