Blackbaud Celebrates National Volunteer Week
Charleston, S.C. — In recognition of National Volunteer
Week, Blackbaud is hosting volunteer fairs and events at its Charleston and Indianapolis offices.
National Volunteer Week was created in 1974 when President Richard Nixon signed an executive order to establish the week as an annual celebration of volunteering. A service of the Points of Light & Hands On Network, the 2008 National Volunteer Week will be held from April 27 to May 3.

around the country.”
On May 1, at its world headquarters in Charleston, S.C., Blackbaud will host 30 local nonprofit organizations for a volunteer fair. Indianapolis-based eTapestry, a Blackbaud company, will host an informational session on May 1 during which local nonprofits will make presentations about their organizations. The events will provide a forum for organizations to share volunteer opportunities and educate the community about their missions and their needs.
Blackbaud’s National Volunteer Week activities are just part of its overall programs that are designed to encourage employee volunteerism. Earlier this month, the company awarded 20 grants through its “Reward
