Michigan Nonprofit Helps Kids with Autism Overcome Obstacles Through Water Sports

Hunter Petrimoulx is an impulsive 12-year-old.

Diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and Asperger's syndrome, it's hard for him to focus. If too many things stimulate his mind at one time, he has a difficult time calming down.

As a result, he struggles to make friends and perform in a traditional classroom setting.

But when he jumped into Clear Lake in West Branch, Mich., Friday, all of those challenges washed away. His focus was sharp while riding on a modified wakeboard, his sense of humor was contagious in the boat and his attitude remained determined when trying to stand up on a real wakeboard.
