"Charity events are always a draw for a couple of reasons. They're a tangible way for the donor to get something in return for their contribution, and that usually comes in the form of an exciting night out," said Paul Miller, board chairman of the Detroit Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. "The feeling of appreciation they engender means a great deal to the donor/guests."
